  • Explore, develop and represent their learning experiences that help them to make sense of the world.
  • Think creatively and imaginatively.

How do we achieve our aims?

  • We have a regular routine to give the children security.
  • We have high but realistic expectations for the children's behaviour and have an effective Behaviour Management policy.
  • We promote and encourage independence, self-help and co-operation by planning opportunities for the children to lead activities.
  • We also plan and prepare challenging new activities for the children each week, that are appropriate to their needs, exciting and that encourage exploration and investigation supporting and extending specific areas of children’s learning.
  • We assess the children's progress regularly, we monitor it carefully and we use it to plan future activities. We adhere to The Early Years Foundation Stage recommendations for recording, to comply with the child protection act.
  • We talk to and question children to help them learn and think.
  • We talk to each other about the children spontaneously through the day and at weekly meetings.
  • We are patient, gentle, reassuring, consistent and good fun.
  • We acknowledge the need for a strong partnership with parents and through the notice board, letters, reports of children's progress, meetings and informal discussions, we work together with carers, to promote the children's understanding.
  • We adhere to the welfare requirements within the EYFS taking necessary steps to safeguard and promote the welfare of children in our care. This statutory framework sets out the legal requirements which cover safeguarding and ensuring children’s welfare, staff, premises, environment and equipment, organisation, documentation and reporting.
